ABOUT ASIRT

Using our services

  • Drop-in service

The project offers a drop-in advice and legal representation session for clients every Thursday, from 10am. Clients are well advised to arrive as close to 10am as possible, as we are regularly forced to limit client numbers to provide an effective service. We do strive to be flexible and responsive to our users' needs and will always try to prioritise and accommodate emergency situations.

Due to the bewildering nature of the asylum and immigration system, it is always helpful for clients to bring their case-papers along with them. Referral notes and contact details of referring agencies are also most helpful.

We regret that, due to limited staff resources and the volume of client need, we are unable to provide an advice service to anyone dropping in at the office at any other time without a prior appointment.

  • Office hours

The project's usual office hours are: 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. Referring agencies should call between those times to discuss their clients' or their teams' needs, or to make an appointment if appropriate.

Due to our limited staff capacity, there may be occasions on which the office is temporarily unstaffed. If you have an urgent query relating to an immigration matter, please call 07758-191798. Please note that this is not an "out-of-hours" number.

  • Smethwick advice surgery

We also operate an advice surgery for clients in Sandwell every Monday at the Smethwick Citizens' Advice Bureau. Clients in Sandwell wishing to access this service should contact Smethwick CAB on 0121 558 8500 or 0121 552 2022. ASIRT's mobile number is 07758-191798.
