Success at last for the Rahimi family

After years of struggle, the Rahimi family finally received notification on Monday May 12th 2008 that they have been granted leave to remain in the UK. Navid, Zohrieh and Ali send the following message of thanks to their supporters

"How can we thank you all very much for your strong support. Actually it is your support which win. This campaign was really a new experience for us that how we can unite together and stand against inhumanity in the world when we are from different countries and different cultures. I will never forgot the voices and letters which gave us strength to be strong in terrible situation. This all your hard work result which is really grateful for us."

Ali has been a great source of support to us at ASIRT, volunteering with us for the past 2 years, over which time we have come to know the family well. We are delighted that this family has finally been granted status and the opportunity to build a life here in the UK, and that they are finally free of the threat of destitution, detention and deportation, the three perpetual anxieties faced by those who seek asylum in the UK.

We are proud to know this proud, determined and courageous family and to have had the opportunity to assist them in their struggle for justice. We wish them every success and happiness for the future.

CONGRATULATIONS, ZOHRIEH, ALI AND NAVID! FROM ALL AT ASIRT.
