About the ASIRT Women's Project
The ASIRT women’s project was set up to try to improve the lives of women and families from new communities who are living in the West Midlands. We aim to do this by:
- Providing information and advice to women and families about immigration, asylum and related issues.
- Providing information, training and advice to professionals in all sectors working to support women and families.
- Talking to women from new communities to find out more about the issues and difficulties they face.
- Talking to community groups and organisations to find out what needs there are within communities.
- Talking to health, social care and voluntary-sector professionals to find out what help is available to new communities.
- Talking to policy-makers and service-providers about how they can better meet the needs of women and families from new communities.
